I've started reading The Chronicles of Narnia, because (blame my parents) I've never read them! It's great summer reading because it doesn't take long to read. I've read The Magician's Nephew and I'm working on The Lion, Witch, Wardrobe now. yay!

I read these so much as a child that my dad started reading single sentences from random books in the series and I could instantly give him the book title and the context. I wonder how (or if) I would like the Narnia books now if I were to read them for the first time.
ReplyDeleteOne of my best book finds was a hardback collection of the Narnia books at Downtown Books for some ridiculous price --$4 for the set maybe? They were missing the jackets and one of them had a little water damage. Each one is a different jewel tone cover with an embossed emblem from one of the illustrations.
When will you read The Horse and His Boy? It happens in the midst of the reign of the Pevensies, so if you want to be strictly chronological, you could stop before the final chapter of LWW and read that one. It's my favorite because no one has to go home at the end.
Does this mean you've given up on HP?
ReplyDeletefyi, I don't know if you've seen the new movie Voyage of the Dawn Treader, but the book is very different and much more excellent.
